Youth Programs
BASIC SKILL PATHWAYS
Trug Bugs - Ages 3-6
Rally Raptors - Ages 6-8
Dream Team - Ages 9-12
The three Basic Skill Pathway programs are for entry-level players with little or no exposure to the sport. Tennis is an activity in which you get out what you put in and for these starters we see great variance in skill acquisition. If your child enjoys his/her class then steepen the learning curve by enrolling in multiple sessions.
In the 8 and Under Matchplay Program, players develop competition skills by playing other like-skilled students on a modified court specifically designed for young learners. They will be coached in the tactical element of the game, while learning mental training techniques to assist them through the different phases of the tennis match.
HOTSHOTS
(1st Level and 2nd Level)
HOTSHOTS is a training group where players aged 4-8 can get additional instruction in the sport and improve their skills in a fun and friendly environment with like-aged peers of all abilities. HOTSHOTS participants are welcome to attend up to 4 sessions per week, TENNIS is an activity in which you get out what you put in and for these starters we see great variance in skill acquisition. If your child enjoys his/her class then steepen the learning curve by enrolling in multiple sessions. Discounts are offered for both families with siblings and for any player attending multiple sessions per week. TTC club membership is encouraged but not required for all participants.
HOTSHOTS SELECT
8 AND UNDER MATCHPLAY
HOTSHOTS SELECT is an academy program for players up to 8 years old who have thrived in the TTC HOTSHOTS program and desire more skill specific training. This program requires a strong technical foundation, students will have had received private instruction for a minimum of 18 months. In the program students will continue to develop next level agility and movement skills. For players who have yet to participate in TTC’s HOTSHOTS program or that did so elsewhere an on-court evaluation with the Club Coach is required for entry. Although club membership is not required for enrolment in this program our staff will encourage membership so that players with like skills can train together outside of their instructional program.
#NoLimits Girls Squads provide an opportunity for talent identified girls aged 8-10yrs to train and develop together in a fun, safe environment at the H.I.T. The 12-month program (4 Terms) for one hour per week will be tailored to the meet the specific needs of the girls at this development stage. The first two terms will be subsided by Tennis Australia.
This is an invite only program. Girls must be pre-approved to enrol in this program.
JUNIOR TEAM
JUNIOR TEAM is a program for continuing players who have come through the HOTSHOTS program and also for new players looking to acquire basic skills. The ages for JUNIOR TEAM will be from 8-14 and there will be a heavy emphasis on stroke mechanics and control of body, racket and ball (in that order). If your player desires to improve quickly we strongly recommend enrolling in both weekly sessions. A discount is available for players registering for bi-weekly sessions. The players in this program are aiming to play entry-level competition at the club level and the H.I.T. team will encourage the player to obtain a club membership upon reaching a game “ready” skill level.
FUTURE STARS
FUTURE STARS is designed for the 8-13 year old established club comp player who desires to join the RLG program and compete at the state/national level in the future. Live ball clinics and small group training sessions, with an emphasis on specific skills, are offered in this program. To participate in the FUTURE STARS program player’s must have received a minimum of 30 months of private instruction and must attend the two weekly sessions. Entry is skill-based based and players must also be members of the club in order to schedule additional individual practice time and participate in several tournaments throughout the year.
TEAM
TEAM is a training group where players 11-17 can improve their skills and train with other peers. Entry is based on the player Club Comp section, which must be (19) or better. In addition to the (1 x week) hitting clinic, TEAM participants can supplement their training by participating in small group clinics where players can get a 3-4 player to coach ratio in order to work on certain parts of their game. The TEAM program is the perfect fit for recreational Club juniors who desire to improve and position themselves to be successful in their Club’s TEAM matches. Players will be enrolled as club member and represent TTC in Club competitions.
ROD LAVER GROUP (RLG)
As the premier training group for H.I.T’s players 11-18, the RLG provides great opportunities for the player who has aspirations of playing collegiately in America and/or pursue professional tennis. Entry is based on the player’s Victorian State ranking and requires that players enter a tournament every third week and play a minimum of 40 matches per year. A Club Comp Grade of section 5 or higher is also required for the RLG qualification. RLG participants must attend the two weekly squad training sessions offered during the 4 school terms. RLG players will also be invited to attend several supplemental training and athletic development sessions from September to April. RLG participants can also request coaching at tournaments, video stroke analysis and high performance movement and conditioning workouts. RLG players must be members of Truganina Tennis Club unless exempted through an existing club membership.

ADULT CARDIO TENNIS
Cardio Tennis is a tennis workout program catering to all fitness levels. Run by our qualified coaches, your session will bring together a variety of cardio workouts and tennis drills, all to a high-energy soundtrack.
ADULT SOCIAL TENNIS
Tennis is a great way to stay fit, meet new people or have fun with family and friends. It’s easy to pick up a racquet and play tennis regardless of your age. The great thing is you don’t have to be a member to play – there are a variety of ways you can have a hit and Social Tennis is one of them.
